Sony Ericsson Cedar

Approximate price: Rs 2850

This candybar is probably the cheapest one with an HDSPA (7.2 MBps) internet connection you’ll find on the market today. And its perks doesn’t end there, the 2.2 inch screen and its internal memory of 280 MB (microSD slot still available) makes it even a better contender for best budget phone, but its 2 megapixel camera makes it vulnerable to competition against the 3.2 megapixel on the Nokia C2-01. Nevertheless, this phone has TrackID, a useful feature that tries to identify an unknown song playing from an external source.
